Shark Tournament

I first want to say, Thank You , thank you to everyone that made this tournament a HUGE success . My wife L’dell , my daughters Amanda and Evy, my son-in-law Justin and Evy’s boyfriend Joshua. This was a true family effort and we had a great time and the memories will be forever held in our hearts. Jean and Jerry, Silver, Sylvania and Fernando, Ms Brenda, and all the contestants, each one of you played an important part in this tournament.
If you have never been in a shark tournament you might be thinking it would be some kind of fun and you would be right, what you might not realize is how much work it is! And I do mean work, this is not something for the half-hearted fishing person. We had 49 contestants this year, several of them formed groups and worked as a team. It was friend helping friend, father teaching son, and wife working along side her husband…….. MEMORIES! This my friend is what makes it all worth it.
We had over all 10 -12 sharks caught . The weather was hot and humid, perfect beach conditions. The winning shark was brought in around 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning by Sonny Marks, Sonny and his teammates, father Ricky, Alex and Leon, were camped just west of the pier.
